To be the salt of the earth
To be level headed
To be level headed means you are sensible and balanced.
Tom is very level headed; I’m sure he’ll make the right choice.
To take responsibility for your actions
If a person takes responsibility for their actions they do not blame* (*say someone else did it) other people. They will admit to doing the action and if there are negative results they will say it is their fault and try to solve the problem.
The restaurant chef took responsibility for his actions when the clients became sick after eating there.
To be honest
To be honest means you only tell the truth. You don’t lie.
Have a look at my image for a pronunciation and grammar tip.
For example,
Are you always honest or do you sometimes lie?
To be open-minded
An open-minded person is, as it sounds, open to new ideas and tolerant of new things, different kinds of people, ideas etc…
My friend is open-minded. Nothing shocks or offends her.
To be kind
This is a quality which, in my opinion, if everyone was kind the world would be a much better place. It means caring about the feelings and happiness of others. It could be people or animals. The noun is kindness.
Jose is so kind that he always tries to be nice to every person he meets.
